The Fable…
Ella and Tom are relocating from Camden to York with their 10-year-old twins, Kitty and Bea, drawn by family ties, good schools, and a slower, more balanced way of life. Ella grew up in York and has close family nearby, making the move feel both practical and rooted.
Ella works as a creative producer and materials researcher, specialising in sustainable interiors and small cultural projects. Her work is collaborative and research-led, focused on working with makers. She’s drawn to York’s human-scale arts scene and hopes to create a calm studio space at home for focused work and small creative gatherings.
Tom works in heritage interpretation and cultural education, combining literature, history, and performance. He’s keen to join a local theatre group or reading circle and values cultural life that feels community-led and conversational.
Kitty and Bea are central to the move. Curious and active, they’re looking forward to starting secondary school and joining local gymnastics, swimming, and football clubs, supported by strong pastoral care and a sense of independence.
As a family, they enjoy York’s independent cafés, galleries, bookshops, cosy pubs, green spaces, cycling, and countryside walks with their dog Arlo, hoping to build a warm, lived-in home and a creative, connected life in the city.
